Tracking AI Jobs and Background Progress

Edited 2026-04-09

Many Heho features, such as generating a full song draft or analyzing an audio file, happen in the background so you can keep working while the AI processes your request.

The Floating Job Indicator

When a background task is active, you will see an amber-colored "pill" appear in the top header of your dashboard or studio.

  • Labels: The pill will show the specific task being performed, such as "Lyrics rewrite", "Sync metrics", or "Audio analysis".
  • Multiple Tasks: If you have multiple tasks running at once, the indicator will group them (e.g., "Lyrics rewrite (2)").

Page Refreshes and "Cold Recovery"

Heho is designed to be resilient. If you accidentally refresh your browser or close the app while a background job is running:

  1. Persistence: The task continues to run on our servers.
  2. Recovery: When you return to the project, the Centralized Job Engine will automatically "recover" the job state.
  3. Completion: Once the job finishes, its results (like new lyrics or structure) will be re-offered to you via a toast notification or a pending proposal card.

Notifications

For longer tasks, Heho will send a browser notification when the work is complete. You can click the notification to jump directly to the result.

Note

If a job appears "stuck" (the amber pill doesn't disappear for several minutes), try refreshing the page once. The app will attempt to re-sync with the server's job status.
