A Variant in Heho is a specific musical direction tied to a fixed set of lyrics. Variants allow you to experiment with different Suno tags, genres, and moods without changing your original words.
The 3-Step Studio Workflow
Every variant moves through three distinct stages, tracked by the Three-dot indicator in the sidebar:
- Lyrics (Purple): Drafting and refining the text.
- Sunofy (Amber): Optimizing tags and style for AI music generation.
- Publish (Emerald): Generating marketing assets and video plans.

Creating and managing variants
- New Variant: Click the + New Variant button in the sidebar. You can start from blank, use a preset, or let AI suggest a direction.
- Duplicate: If you like a variant but want to try a small tweak, use the Duplicate option in the variant's menu.
- Rename: Keep your workspace organized by giving each variant a descriptive name (e.g., "90s Grunge Mix" or "Acoustic Ballad").
- Star Rating: Rate your variants to keep track of which directions are working best.
Locking Lyrics (Snapshots)
To ensure consistency across variants, Heho uses Snapshots.
- When your lyrics are ready, click Lock in the Sunofy tab.
- This creates a "frozen" version of the lyrics that all variants under that snapshot will use.
- If you edit the lyrics later, you can lock a New snapshot, which allows you to keep your old variants tied to the old lyrics while starting fresh variants for the new ones.
