Mastering the Word Explorer

Edited 2026-04-09

The Word Explorer is Heho's specialized tool for word-level refining. Unlike standard dictionaries, Heho analyzes the entire line and section around your selected word to provide contextually relevant suggestions.

Launching the explorer

You can open the explorer from the editor on any word or phrase.

  1. Right-click (on web) or long-press (on mobile) any word or selected text.
  2. From the context menu, choose Find Synonyms, Find Rhymes, or Translate.
  3. A small popover window will appear with AI-generated suggestions.

Exploration modes

  • Synonyms: Finds words or short phrases with similar meanings that fit the current line's tone and syllable count.
  • Rhymes: Finds rhyming words that are relevant to the song's genre and theme.
  • Translate: Translates the selected word or phrase to a target language with contextual awareness.

Syllable matching

Every suggestion in the Word Explorer is labeled with its syllable count. This helps you maintain the meter of your song without manual counting.

Highlighted "Explored" words

When you choose a suggestion from the explorer, the word in your editor is automatically highlighted with an amber underline. This indicates that the word has been "explored."

  • Hovering over a highlighted word (on web) will instantly show the previous suggestions again.
  • Right-clicking a highlighted word gives you quick access to additional exploration modes for that same word.

Cost and caching

  • AI Cost: Each new exploration costs 5 credits. This is because the AI must analyze your full song context.
  • Cache hits are free: Once a word has been explored, its suggestions are cached for your entire team. Re-opening or hovering over a word you've already explored costs 0 credits.
Tip

Use the Match syllables checkbox in the explorer to filter suggestions that have the exact same syllable count as your original word.
